LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Late in practice and before a team red-zone period, the Bears gathered as a full team in the middle of Field 1 at Halas Hall.
It’s typically something that a head coach would do to send a message to his players about their competitiveness or to remind them that the next period would include live tackling.
But Ben Johnson wasn’t the one in the middle.
He didn’t call the impromptu team meeting.
It was led by cornerback Jaylon Johnson.
