LAKE FOREST, Ill. — In a red zone 7-on-7 period during the Bears’ first training camp open to fans on Friday, quarterback Caleb Williams rifled a quick short pass near the goal line intended for tight end Colston Loveland.
Cornerback Jaylon Johnson jumped the route instead, made the catch and started a foot race down the left sideline.
It was Johnson’s first noteworthy highlight since intercepting two of Williams’ passes – including one in a two-minute drill – back during mandatory minicamp in June.
