It turns out you’re a better football team when your most talented players are on the field.
That much was evident in the Bears’ 31-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons Sunday as Caleb Williams and Kyler Gordon made huge impacts in their respective returns to the field.
It’s a short week, so let’s drive right into an expedited version of “10 Bears Things” after a win in Atlanta:
1. I don’t know if that was Caleb Williams’ best game in the NFL, but it might have been the best he’s looked as a passer.
Williams played with an angry intensity from the start, but channeled it in a healthy, efficient way. He completed his first 12 passes – a career-high – and his accuracy was dialed in throughout the game.
The film reflects an important step in his development, as Williams consistently got the ball out quickly and accurately. According to SumerSports, Williams was 15-for-15 for 137 yards when he got the ball out under 2.5 seconds. That represented half of his total completions.
Perhaps playing with a hobbled hammy forced Williams to stay around the pocket more and get the ball out faster, but it wasn’t like he was a statue. Heck, he rolled out left on his first pass of the game.

Good stuff! I still think the question as to whether or not Ben pulled the starters too soon would never have been an issue had Roschon not coughed up the ball when the Bears were in FG range. Not to mention that the backups played like ass.
