In December of 2022, the Chicago White Sox inked a 5-year/$75m contract with free agent outfielder, Andrew Benintendi. The deal made Benintendi the largest free agent in the organization’s history. After a tough 2023, White Sox manager Pedro Grifol recently illuminated why Benintendi struggled so much in 2023 to CHGO’s Vinnie Duber. Grifol said, ““I can’t tell you how many times it was a 2 o’clock, 3 o’clock decision whether he could play or not. It happened a lot.”. White Sox players notably played injured in 2021 and 2022, so why did the White Sox play Benintendi in 151 games without a stint on the Injured List. Join the CHGO White Sox crew, Vinnie Duber, Herb Lawrence, and Sean Anderson as they discuss Andrew Benintendi’s 2023 season and future with the White Sox.
