Last night, the Chicago White Sox cruised through the top of the 8th inning. Luis Robert Jr. hit a monster HR in the 6th inning to give them a 2-0 lead, and Corey Julks’ solo HR in the 8th extended the lead to 4-0. Erick Fedde had a spotless line through 7 innings, but after a Dominic Canzone solo HR in the bottom of the 8th, things started to tumble downhill for the South Siders. Michael Kopech relieved Fedde, and the Mariners jumped all over him. The 4-1 Sox lead was cut to 4-3 after a two-run single by Mitch Haniger, and tied the game on an RBI infield single by Luke Raley. The nail was driven through the coffin in the 9th inning as Cal Raleigh unloaded the bases with a walk-off grand slam off rookie pitcher, Jordan Leasure. On the bright side, the #54 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, Drew Thorpe will be making his MLB debut tonight v. the Mariners. Join the CHGO White Sox crew, Herb Lawrence and Sean Anderson as they react to last night’s loss and talk to FutureSox’s Elijah Evans about Thorpe’s debut.
