LAKE FOREST — Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze will not partipicate in Saturday’s rookie minicamp practice due to hamstring tightness.
A Chicago Bears spokesperson described the decision for Odunze to not practice in the second minicamp practice as “precautionary.”
During his time at Washington, Odunze played in 40 total games. He did miss three games during the 2021 season and missed the Portland State game in 2022 due to precautionary reasons.
Last season, Odunze punctured his lung during Washington’s 31-24 victory over Arizona in Week 5. Despite the injury, Odunze did not miss a single game and ended his 2023 campaign by catching 92 passes for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Oduzne was heavily featured on Day 1 of rookie minicamp, easily catching the most passes from Caleb Williams during the 7-on-7 portions of practice.
