The Chicago Blackhawks have traded forward Taylor Hall to the Carolina Hurricanes in a three-team trade with the Colorado Avalanche.
In exchange for Hall, the Blackhawks acquired a 2025 third-round pick, the same pick they traded to the Hurricanes for a 2024 third-round pick, which they used to select Jack Pridham. Carolina received both Hall and Mikko Rantanen, while Colorado received Martin Necas, Jack Drury, a 2025 second-round pick, and a 2026 fourth-round pick from Carolina.
According to The Athletic’s Scott Powers, the Blackhawks will retain $4.625 million (half) of Rantanen’s $9.25 million cap hit, which comes off the books after this season.
Hall, who joined the Blackhawks ahead of the 2023-24 season, scored nine goals and added 15 assists for 24 points in 46 games with Chicago this season.
Hall was a late scratch ahead of Friday night’s game vs the Tampa Bay Lightning.
