Do you think Gary Bettman felt any regrets on New Year's Eve?
The guess here? No, he probably didn't. Wrigley Field was packed with more than 40,000 who'd shelled out hundreds for tickets and hundreds more for official Winter Classic sweaters and beanies. Sponsorship activations around the ballpark and neighborhood were plentiful and the television ratings will likely be higher than in previous years once they arrive.
The Winter Classic is a money-printing machine for the NHL and it delivered once again.
I'd still like to think that Bettman and the league would like this one back.
