On January 14, 2022, the Chicago Bulls took a beating at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, losing 138-96. It was one of the Bulls worst losses of the season, worsened only by concern over Zach LaVine, who sustained a knee injury just four minutes into the game.
Down insurmountably in the third quarter, Billy Donovan may as well have been calling it a night when he removed Lonzo Ball from the game. Aside from some slight signs of pain from Ball as he went to the bench, it went totally unnoticed that he had just suffered an injury that would hold him out over 1,000 days.
