LAKE FOREST – The Chicago Bears will start their preparation for the Philadelphia Eagles without quarterback Justin Fields
Coach Matt Ebeflus gave an update on the starting quarterback during his Wednesday morning press conference.
“One injury or update for you guys is Justin Fields is ill today, will not practice,” Eberflus said. “He’s day-to-day. He’s feeling better day-to-day so we’ll go from there.”
Despite not practicing today, Eberflus does anticipate Fields playing on Sunday against the Eagles. For now, though, Fields is still at Halas Hall and will be working through the first- and second-down plays that the offense typically practices on Wednesday.
The sooner Fields can get back to feeling healthy and practicing, the better. On Sunday at Soldier Field, the Bears will face an Eagles defense that ranks No. 1 in sacks (49), turnovers (24) and passing yards per game (178.7).
