The Bears have lost four straight and seven of their last eight, but those stats might be the least of their problems right now.
Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears had some early highlights, but couldn’t pull things off when it counted and dropped a 27-24 decision to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Worst yet, Fields was favoring his left shoulder during the Bears’ final drive, which ended with an interception. The Bears are now 3-8 and still looking for a finishing victory since Fields has become one of the league’s hottest stories.

Once again, a special teams play turned out to be the difference as Cordarrelle Patterson’s kick return touchdown flipped the game. The Bears’ offensive line struggled all day and Justin Fields couldn’t do it all by himself (although he sure did plenty). I have major questions about what Luke Getsy was doing on that final drive. Fields was clearly hurting and running the ball didn’t make any sense anyway since they were losing. Now we have to wait and see how bad Fields’ left shoulder is doing into next week.

Very disappointing loss for the Bears on many levels. They had control of the game for a second but kicked to Cordarelle Patterson?! Come on man. And then with a chance for a game-winning and or game-tying drive Justin Fields is asked to run twice on his banged up exhausted body before airmailing an interception. Protecting the quarterback during this tank season needs to be more of a priority than that.

Justin Fields’ homecoming didn’t go as planned. His offensive line couldn’t hold their blocks and Fields was sacked four times on the day. Sunday’s 27-24 loss was a reminder of how much the offensive line needs to be retooled. The Bears forced two turnovers, but Chicago also gave up a 103-yard kick return to Cordarrelle Patterson. The losing streak now extends to four games, and the Bears will go on the road to face the New York Jets next Sunday.

Have the Chicago Bears learned how to finish? Well, I think we know the answer. They can’t. It’s another week and another loss to a beatable team, and this time you can’t blame the officiating. It was all about the Bears and their inability to capitalize on situations, nor finish the game. Another missed kick, multiple points left off the scoreboard, you name it. The Bears continue to find new ways to lose games, but at least they’re holding onto a high draft pick? Still though, you’d like to see Justin Fields and the Bears win one of these.

Out of gas. You commend this Bears team for fighting week in and week out. But at the end of the day the lack of talent on both sides of the ball has this team running on a empty tank. The most obvious example is Justin Fields who almost couldn’t finish the game on the final drive as the Bears failed to tie or win the game. But more examples around as the injuries are piling up. Teven Jenkins couldn’t play today. Kyler Gordon couldn’t finish the game. Multiple players pulled off the field by the Officials upstairs including Jaquan Brisker. The Bears are in an uphill battle every week this season. They’ll be better for it in the long run but for the short term, the losses will pile up. And can Justin Fields even make it to the bye week in December? Doesn’t look like it. Top 5 pick anyone? Silver lining?

Justin Fields is still H1M, but it’s looking like it will be a huge job to fill the many holes that litter this Bears roster. Take away Fields and the special teams guys … can you count more than 10 guys you 100 percent see as part of the long-term solution here? The good news is that the push to secure a high draft pick is going along swimmingly. Also, how about that catch from Cole Kmet?
