Kudos to you if you made it all the way through this game without a nap. If you couldn’t resist, I don’t think anybody would blame you.
Putting a spectacularly sad bow in the home finale, the Bears scored just three points on Thursday night. Cairo Santos’ 42-yard field goal in the second quarter was all the Bears could muster in 60 minutes.
However, before the field goal, Caleb Williams found Rome Odunze in the back of the end zone. It was Chicago’s best play of the night. It was also called back for offensive holding on Jake Curhan.
Caleb Williams extended his stretch of pass attempts without an interception to 353 before throwing one on the final offensive play of the night. He was also sacked seven times, reaching 67 on the year with one game to go.
Not a great note to end the season at home, but here’s to brighter days at Soldier Field ahead. Happy New Year!
Seahawks 6, Bears 3.

What do the Bears do well? The answer after losing 6-3 to the Seahawks is an emphatic nothing. Caleb Williams was sacked 7 more times and saw his interception streak come to an end on the final play of the game. The final home game saw Bears fans scream sell the team and wear bags on their heads. 10 straight losses. Hard to believe.

Oops, that’s my bad. My head hit the keyboard after this game lulled me to sleep. The Bears’ best play was a Caleb Williams touchdown pass to Rome Odunze called back for offensive holding in the first half.
Chicago has one shot left to win a game in the United States this season – their last came on October 6th against the Carolina Panthers. Next Sunday also gives the Bears another chance to break their ‘winless on the road on Sundays’ stretch, dating back to December 26, 2021 – 1,096 days ago.

Given the performance of the Bears under interim head coach Thomas Brown, it’s going to be another 100 years before we see a Bears coach fired midseason. God bless all of you who braved a wet night on the shores of Lake Michigan to watch this punting exhibition.
