Hello, Chicago Cubs Diehards! Welcome back to the CHGO Cubs Weekly newsletter.
Though we've all been saying it for a little while now (or, if you're Grandpa Stucky, since June), the Cubs' season is almost officially over.
Wednesday afternoon's loss meant a series loss at home to the Oakland A's, giving this squad a 77-75 record, dropping them to seven games back in the National League wild card race (with just 10 games left) and officially handing the NL Central to the Milwaukee Brewers. It shouldn't surprise anyone that, over at FanGraphs, the Cubs are given a 0 percent chance at the postseason.
