The funniest part about this Chicago Cubs offseason thus far is that they haven’t actually done anything improve the roster, yet fans may be more excited about next season than they've been in years.

It's the Craig Counsell effect, really. The Cubs sent shockwaves through baseball last week when they went out and hired Counsell, the former Brewers manager who they officially introduced as their new manager on Monday.
