DALLAS – The Chicago White Sox don’t seem too eager to move the sport’s most talked about trade candidate.
Garrett Crochet is generating plenty of buzz at the Winter Meetings. But just like they did with another buzz-worthy staff ace a year ago in Nashville, the White Sox are fine if they leave baseball’s big offseason get together without making a splashy deal.
Chris Getz didn’t ship Dylan Cease to the Padres until March, choosing to hold onto his top-of-the-rotation arm until the right offer came along. He waited and waited and waited and ended up with a three-prospect package headlined by top-100 pitcher Drew Thorpe.
