The Chicago White Sox have themselves a new manager. So let the offseason begin.
For Chris Getz, the work has already begun, really.
Yoán Moncada’s days on the South Side are done, with the team declining the $25 million option on his contract last week. Monday, there were changes in the bullpen, with Getz adding righty Penn Murfee – who put up good numbers prior to the Tommy John surgery that’s kept him on the shelf since mid 2023 – and seeing longtime White Sox arms Jimmy Lambert and Matt Foster head to free agency rather than accept outright assignments to the minor leagues.
