The latest day of note on the Chicago White Sox’ offseason calendar has come and gone.
The non-tender deadline’s biggest headline was the end of the Gavin Sheets Era on the South Side, the White Sox opting to non-tender their 2017 second-round pick alongside far more recent waiver claim Enyel De Los Santos on Friday evening. Meanwhile, they hung onto 2019 first-round pick Andrew Vaughn, made the no-brainer choice to tender staff ace Garrett Crochet a contract – ahead of a likely trade – and kept relatively inexpensive veteran relievers Steven Wilson and Justin Anderson.
