What’s up, Sox fans?
Miguel Vargas’ move to the Chicago White Sox is not off to the best start.
Vargas, a top-ranked prospect with the Dodgers last year, was viewed as the biggest name among the prospects Chris Getz acquired in trade-deadline deals last month. He boasted positional versatility, though Getz emphasized the White Sox traded for him because of his bat.
But Vargas’ bat hasn’t done much of anything since his arrival on the South Side. He’s just 6-for-62 in a White Sox uniform.
Certainly it would be outrageously rash to make a definitive judgment on the trade that brought Vargas over after such a small number of at-bats. But there’s no doubt that Vargas will be under the microscope...
