There's a new young starting pitcher making his way to the big leagues next week. The Chicago White Sox intend to bring Drew Thorpe up to start Tuesday night in Seattle, another pitching prospect reaching the majors as Chris Getz's rebuilding project marches on.
Thorpe was the headlining prospect in the Dylan Cease trade back in March, and he's been dominating down at Double-A Birmingham. Getz hyped Thorpe up after the team acquired him during the spring, mentioning the Padres were considering Thorpe for their rotation, indirectly forecasting the 23-year-old righty as someone who could reach the bigs this year.
