There’s a new outfielder in the mix for the Chicago White Sox.
According to multiple reports, the team is in agreement on a major league contract with Austin Slater, a soon-to-be 32-year-old veteran of eight big league seasons.
Slater might not be a household name among White Sox fans, who got to see his former squad, the Giants, rarely over the last decade. But he was a fixture in San Francisco before being traded twice – first to the Reds, then to the Orioles – last summer.
