Hello hello, Chicago Cubs fans.
I'm back with another CHGO Cubs Weekly newsletter, and this week, I want to highlight one of the young players who's been breaking out this summer: Porter Hodge.
Added to the 40-man roster last November, Hodge was called up for the first time on May 17 because the Cubs needed a healthy arm. But he didn't even get into a game for five more days. Part of it was likely just that he may not have been totally ready for big league action quite yet.
"It's a little fast for Porter, frankly," Cubs manager Craig Counsell said at the time, "but it's a good arm, and this is going to be a good experience for him and this is going to be development for him."
