Major League Baseball's non-tender deadline — the last chance for teams to tender 2025 contracts to unsigned players, including those who are arbitration-eligible — came Friday night, and the Chicago Cubs had some decisions to make.
Four arbitration-eligible players were tendered contracts (projected arb salaries, via MLB Trade Rumors, included): Eli Morgan ($1 million), Isaac Paredes ($6.9 million), Nate Pearson ($1.4 million) and Justin Steele ($6.4 million). Both the players and the Cubs can still agree to contracts moving forward, but the sides have to exchange salary figures by Jan. 10. Arbitration hearings, if necessary, would then be set for later dates.
