It's been a bit of a rough go of things for Christopher Morel at the plate in 2024.
On the surface, the numbers would say he's struggled, especially in the first two months or so of the season. Take this stretch, for example: From Opening Day through May 29 (his first 55 games of the year), Morel's line was .192/.298/.363/90 wRC+. That's even including his hot streak to start the year, when he posted a line of .326/.370/.605/175 wRC+ 11 games in.
The numbers just didn't look great. But if you were paying enough attention, as the people in the Chicago Cubs organization certainly were, there was plenty of confidence ...
