When the Chicago Bulls turned Alex Caruso into Josh Giddey, it came under the assumption that eventually, the team would be committing to their new point guard long term.
Giddey is entering his fourth season in the NBA. He has until October 21 to come to an agreement on an extension. Otherwise he will become a restricted free agent following the 2024-25 season.
If the Bulls are going to strike, now is the time. When asked whether there would be urgency to get a deal done ahead of the season at Media Day, Bulls lead executive Arturas Karnisovas was non-committal.
"I mean, we're probably going to have conversations, so we'll see what happens," Karnisovas said.
