General manager Kyle Davidson met with the media today before the Chicago Blackhawks took to the ice for practice. We were hopeful this would give us some answers on the mysterious absence of veteran forward Corey Perry, but the picture is just as gray as it was before.
Davidson told reporters that Perry will be away from the team for “the foreseeable future.” He added that this is an organizational decision and would not comment any further. He said that it wouldn’t be fair to rule certain things out, so he would not say if this was trade-related or reveal the nature of the situation.
You can watch the entire press conference below, where Davidson touched on the health of the team, the progress of young players, and more.
**UPDATE**
Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet got the following statement from Perry’s agent. Again, it doesn’t give any details, but whatever is going on is a private matter.
