The Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers are set to meet on Thursday Night Football with prime draft position on the line.
With Justin Fields listed as “doubtful,” it’s looking like Tyson Bagent will be making his fourth straight start for the Bears. Can he even his record at 2-2 or will the Bears give up a valuable win to the Panthers, who currently own the second pick in the draft?
Here’s how we see this one shaking out …
Adam Hoge (4-5) — Bears 20, Panthers 13
Despite all the Bears’ issues, they are a better team than the Panthers, who will be missing Brian Burns and D.J. Chark tonight.
Nicholas Moreano (4-5) — Bears 24, Panthers 17
The Bears’ 24-17 loss to the Saints was disappointing. There is no denying that, but Chicago did turn the ball over five times and commit eight penalties and only lost by one score on the road. The Bears play a cleaner game against a beatable Panthers team, who will be missing their top defensive player in Brian Burns. Tyson Bagent does enough to help the Bears get their third win and second victory on Thursday Night Football this season.
Will DeWitt (4-5) — Bears 24, Panthers 21
Finally – a game that means something! It’s been awhile since we’ve had one of those around here. If there was a game between now and the rest of the season that the Bears should be motivated to win, it’s this one. Big draft implications on the line. It would be pathetic to lose to the Panthers and hurt the chances of that draft pick becoming the first overall. The Bears need to spread the wealth through the air and stick to their rushing attack this week. Oh, and taking care of the football will help, too! Put some pressure on Bryce Young and force him into a key mistake or two, and the Bears should win this Thursday night matchup.
Greg Braggs Jr. (5-4) — Bears 24, Panthers 13
I don’t care who plays quarterback. I’m picking the Bears to win this week. Why? Because they absolutely HAVE to! This game is arguably the biggest game on their schedule the rest of the year with the draft implications attached to them. Must win! The Panthers and Cardinals are neck and neck as the worst teams in football and the Bears own the Panthers first round pick. I don’t care what you want to do with that pick but Chicago needs it to be #1 for a bevy of reasons. Tyson Bagent looks to get another start on the lakefront. Last time they were at Soldier Field he looked crisp along with a solid run game and they won over a bad Raiders team. Now enters a bad Panthers team. Gotta do the same vs them.
Mark Carman (5-4) — Bears 27, Panthers 10
Party on the lakefront and at Joe’s on Weed Street.
Kevin Kaduk (4-5) — Bears 21, Panthers 13
A must-win game if the Bears want to maximize the value of the pick they’re gettting from Caroina and I think it’ll play out similar to Tyson Bagent’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders, which somehow already seems like a lifetime ago. Will anyone outside of Chicago be searching out Prime for this game?
Jake Flannigan (2-7) — Bears 9, Panthers 3
What I if I told you sometimes you don’t need to score touchdowns to win football games? Bear Down, Chicago Bears.
