The first actual practice is in the books for the Chicago Bears. The one surprise of the day was no Rome Odunze, who was missing for personal reasons but is expected back on Sunday. Braxton Jones and T.J. Edwards are both limited to start camp. Larry Borom got the reps at left tackle in place of Jones. There were also plenty of Caleb Williams moments with praise coming from the podium for the Bears' rookie quarterback.
Here are three observations from the day . . .
1. Caleb is starting to look and sound more comfortable.
Keenan Allen is a veteran who knows what a quarterback should sound like in the huddle. It was notable that Allen said Williams was "more solid" and there was no "timidness"...
