CHICAGO, Ill. -- Daniel Hardy's punt block that led to the Chicago Bears' first touchdown of the game against the Titans was a long time in the making.
Hardy, who is in his second season with the Bears, said the block on Titans' punter Ryan Stonehouse in the third quarter came from a rush plan and hours of watching tape the team had been studying since the start of training camp.
Hardy lined up in the B gap between Titans' linebackers Jack Gibbens and Luke Gifford. At the snap, Hardy exploded off the line of scrimmage, stayed low out of his stance and drove Gibbens back. Hardy then started to bend inside and reached out with his left hand to block Stonehouse's punt.
