Chicago Bears schedule release: Caleb Williams and company receive challenging 2024 calendar

Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze and the Chicago Bears have a challenging schedule ahead of them this fall.

The team’s first-round picks and its supercharged offense received the 2024 NFL schedule on Wednesday night. The slate starts at home at Soldier Field with a September 8 date against the Tennessee Titans and ends on the frozen tundra with a January 5 date against the Green Bay Packers.

In between is a schedule that is backloaded with NFC North matchups and doesn’t feature much rest, with two Thursday games scheduled in the season’s final six weeks. The team will have only four days to prepare for both a Thanksgiving trip to the Detroit Lions on November 28 and a Boxing Day (December 26) bout with the Seattle Seahawks at Soldier Field.

Other highlights include an overseas Week 6 trip to face Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, a Week 2 matchup against C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans and Week 14 trip to face the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers.

Tough second-half schedule for the Chicago Bears

The Bears will not face a NFC North opponent until Week 11 when the Packers come to Chicago. All six division games will be played in the final eight weeks of the season.

The visit from Green Bay is sandwiched in the middle of a three-game homestand that includes games against the New England Patriots (November 10) and Minnesota Vikings (November 24).

That homestand is followed by a tough three-game road trip that starts with Thanksgiving in Detroit, a tough visit to San Francisco on December 8 and a Monday Night Football date with the Minnesota Vikings on December 16.

The Bears will then return home for a December 22 date against the Detroit Lions and a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Seattle Seahawks just four days later on December 26.

The team’s bye will come in Week 7 after it returns from London. The Bears will travel 19,558 total miles, the 15th-highest number in the NFL this season.
