The 2025 season is officially upon us, and hopefully, the 2024 season is completely in the rearview.
The youth movement is in full swing on the south side, but before we get our first game of the season at Rate Field, I asked CHGO White Sox staff a few questions heading into Opening Day. Here’s what everybody had to say:
THE WHITE SOX’S RECORD IN 2025 WILL BE…
- Sean Anderson: 51-111

- Sean Anderson: …no one. They will be the worst team in Major League Baseball…again.

THE WHITE SOX’S MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER IN 2025 IS…
- Sean Anderson: Luis Robert Jr. — He’s the most important piece to building Chris Getz’s ideal future. If he can produce an enticing three months of baseball that will attract top prospects in a deal, it can be the start of something great for Getz & the Sox. If Robert deals with injuries or, worse, performs poorly…this rebuild could be going nowhere.
- Jared Wyllys: Luis Robert Jr.

WHO WILL BE THE WHITE SOX’S HOME RUN LEADER?
- Sean Anderson: Luis Robert Jr. will hit 20 HRs with the Sox before being traded in early July. Miguel Vargas, in the last series, will hit his 21st & 22nd home runs of the season.
- Jared Wyllys: Luis Robert Jr. with 29.
- Joey Christopoulos: Miguel Vargas with 23.
- Patrick Norton: Andrew Benintendi with 26.
MOST LIKELY TO REPRESENT THE WHITE SOX AT THE ALL-STAR GAME:
- Sean Anderson: Luis Robert Jr., if not traded…Andrew Benintendi if Robert is gone.
- Jared Wyllys: Luis Robert Jr.
- Joey Christopoulos: Miguel Vargas
- Patrick Norton: Luis Robert Jr.
THE WHITE SOX’S BEST-CASE SCENARIO IN 2024 IS…
- Sean Anderson: Luis Robert Jr. is traded for two of a team’s top 5 prospects. Colson Montgomery is up by June and is able to tread water with the White Sox. Guillermo Quiroz is able to repeat Sergio Santos’ success in Birmingham with Noah Schultz, Hagen Smith, and Grant Taylor in the rotation. AND the White Sox win the MLB Draft Lottery and get the #1 pick in the 2026 MLB Draft.
- Jared Wyllys: They manage not to lose 100 games.
- Joey Christopoulos: Schultz, Smith, Burke, and Cannon chart a path that resembles the scant traces of a foundation.
- Patrick Norton: Winning the draft lottery. This season’s like Whose Line Is It Anyway… the players are made up, and the results don’t matter.
THE WORST-CASE SCENARIO IS…
- Sean Anderson: Luis Robert Jr. is untradeable. Colson Montgomery deals with more back issues and cannot cut it as a shortstop with the Sox. Schultz, Hagen, or Taylor come short of their intended inning goals. The White Sox lose 100 games for their 2nd straight season, the fourth time this millennium, and the seventh time in their 125 years as a franchise. And it’s all for the 6th pick of the 2026 MLB Draft via the Draft Lottery.
- Jared Wyllys: 41-121 all over again.
- Joey Christopoulos: The White Sox beat the previous loss record last season, and their offense statistically is meme’d all season. Also, someone craps in the milkshake machine.
- Patrick Norton: Falling a few spots in the lottery while setting a new record for losses.
