The Chicago Bears are 2-3 after a close-but-no-cigar loss to the Minneosta Vikings last Sunday. Tonight, after a short turnaround, they welcome the Washington Commanders to Soldier Field in a bid to return to .500.
Can they get the job done?

Will DeWitt (3-2) — Bears 24, Commanders 20
Justin Fields and Co. are trending in the right direction and gaining positive momentum. Even though the Commanders have playmakers and a decent defense, the Bears will outwork them in primetime to come out on top as the Bears will finally start a game with the level of play we’ve only seen in second halves.
Mark Carman (3-2) — Bears 23, Commanders 22
With Jaylon Johnson back in the fold the Bears get a much needed boost in pass coverage while Justin Fields continues his breathing progression to calmly lead the Bears back to .500. Bears get a FG late to take it.
Greg Braggs, Jr. (3-2) — Commanders 24, Bears 20
I want to pick the Bears. I really do. But the Commanders just sacked the quarterback five times last week and have 14 on the season. Fields will have a tougher time maneuvering then he did vs Minnesota. Hoping I’m wrong. Enjoying the progress from Sunday.
Adam Hoge (2-3) — Bears 24, Commanders 16
Both of these teams lost on Sunday, but the vibes are very different. Justin Fields is feeling a boost of confidence after a strong performance, while Carson Wentz had a bus driven over him by Ron Rivera. I’m worried about Washington’s defensive front, but think the Bears find a way to keep their offensive growth going. On defense, getting Jaylon Johnson back is huge. The takeaways will be the difference in this one.

Nicholas Moreano (2-3) — Bears 20, Commanders 17
The Washington Commanders can get after opposing quarterbacks. The front seven has 14 sacks on the seasons, with six players having two or more sacks. Can the Bears’ offensive line give Justin Fields enough time to make plays in the passing game? That will decide tonight’s game. I think the O-line does just enough and Fields carries his team to a win.
Carmen Vitali (4-1) — Bears 22, Commanders 15
Is that a normal score? No. But this isn’t going to be a normal game. It’s Thursday Night Football. And it’s between two teams that are still trying to figure out who they are this season. Buckle up, folks. We’re in for some frustrating football — but at least the Bears should end up on the right side of it.
Corey Wootton (4-1) — Bears 31, Commanders 17
Justin fields continues to gain confidence and continues building off last week’s Vikings performance with another good game. Defensively the Bears finally stop the run. Washington is a struggling team with a coach that threw their QB Wentz under the bus. Bears finally get a solid performance on both sides of the ball.
Kevin Kaduk (4-1) — Bears 20, Commanders 16
Thursday night games are never pretty. Give the edge to an energized Bears team after last Sunday’s second half, playing in front of a hopeful Soldier Field crowd. Justin Fields will need to be at his creative best, but he’ll get the job done against Carson Wentz.
Jake Flannigan (3-2) — Bears 24, Commanders 13
Afterward, Ron Rivera will be asked “What was the difference in the game?” His answer will be simple, “Quarterback.”
