CHGO staff predictions: Chicago Bears vs. Buffalo Bills

The temperatures and attendance will both be low when the Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills kick things off for Saturday’s Christmas Eve date.

But what will happen on the field? Our staff at CHGO seems united that the Bears will drop their eighth straight game on their quest for a high draft pick.

Let’s get straight to the predictions, shall we?

Will DeWitt (7-7) — Bills 21, Bears 14

I’m cold just thinking about the conditions on Saturday. It’s another week against yet another Super Bowl contender. And you have to give the Bears credit, they made last week’s game much closer than most thought. So, I believe they can do that again, but will ultimately fall short of a superior Bills team.

Mark Carman (7-7) — Bills 24, Bears 18

It’s going to be cold. It’s going to be windy. The Bears are going to build off of last week and continue to make strides defensively and take the ball away. I’m feeling a Jaylon Johnson interception- he is due. The Bears will also continue their trend of being in the game but coming up short. Josh Allen fires through the wind just enough

Greg Braggs, Jr. (10-4) — Bills 34, Bears 20

Jalen Hurts didn’t look very comfortable in the Chicago cold last week and said as much after the Eagles escaped with a win over the Bears. I don’t think Josh Allen will be as phased by the brutal cold getting ready to roll through the Midwest. The Bills are definitely used to playing in those conditions, if not worse at times. Depending on the severity of the wind, I see Josh Allen moving their offense up and down the field early and often. The Bears defense certainly has impressed the last couple weeks. Specifically the secondary. So it will be a good test for that group once again. But Justin Fields loses both starting guards on his offensive line last week and also WR Equanimeous St. Brown from an already thin group. While this has been one of the most fun years to watch a quarterback on the Chicago Bears, my hope is he can just make it through healthy the rest of the way. I’ve seen all I need to see, personally. We have a rising star at QB.

Adam Hoge (6-8) — Bills 30, Bears 20

Justin Fields works his magic to put up some points, but the injuries at wide receiver and on the offensive line are too much to expect an offensive explosion. On defense, the secondary plays well again, but the lack of a pass rush against Josh Allen is deadly.

Nicholas Moreano (6-8) — Bills 24, Bears 20

The Bears will be facing the 11-3 Bills with a depleted offensive line and wide receiving core. It seems like each week the obstacles keep stacking up for Justin Fields. Despite missing key players on the roster going into the Week 16 matchup, I think the Bears keep this game close in the frigid weather conditions.

Corey Wootton (8-6) – Bills 21, Bears 17

With the weather being so cold it’s going to be an old school smashmouth running type of game. I think both teams will rush well and it will come down to a score by the bills late to seal it.

Carmen Vitali (8-6) — Bills 17, Bears 16

The Bears have been in most every game they’ve played this season and the Bills have a habit of playing down to their opponents this season. It will be bitterly cold so I can’t imagine these guys are going to be able to muster a whole lot of offense when they’re frozen solid.

Kevin Kaduk (8-6) — Bills 24, Bears 14

A Christmas miracle? Not this year. I think this one will go quick as both teams won’t want to stay out in the cold long for a holiday. That said, tbe Bills are in the race for the AFC’s top seed and I can’t imagine they lose focus on this business trip. I also can’t imagine either kicker hitting a field goal in this weather, either.

Jake Flannigan (7-6)  —  Bills 38, Bears 13

Bah humbug! That is all.
