A year ago Wednesday, the Cubs shocked the baseball world by becoming the team who lured Craig Counsell away from Milwaukee.
It really was the ultimate surprise. Counsell was rumored to either return to the Brewers or join his old boss, David Stearns, in Queens. At least those teams were considered the favorites. Obviously, that didn't happen.
