The Chicago Cubs kicked off their series vs the Giants Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field. The Cubs took an early lead thanks to a 2-run homer by Yan Gomes. Drew Smyly had an excellent start, throwing 7 scoreless innings and striking out 8. The Cubs held on for a 4-2 lead.
