The Chicago Cubs got back in the win column on Tuesday night with a big win over the San Diego Padres. The Cubs badly needed a win after blowing an 8-0 loss to the Padres last night. Ben Brown was rock solid in his first ever MLB start, going 4.2 innings and allowing 0 earned runs. Yan Gomes hit a solo shot for the Cubbies before Christopher Morel blew the game wide open with a grand slam to left field. The Cubs bullpen was able to hold on tonight, and Craig Counsell’s squad got the win. Kyle Hendricks takes the mound for the Cubbies tomorrow as they go for the series win in San Diego.
