The Chicago Cubs fell to their rival, St. Louis Cardinals, 3-0 on Friday at Wrigley Field. Jordan Wicks got the start for the Cubbies in his first start back since his forearm injury. He went 1.2 innings before leaving early with another injury. Wicks was replaced by Kyle Hendricks, who pitched a strong 4.1 scoreless innings. The Cubbies offense continued to struggle, as they could only muster 3 hits vs the Cardinals. Pedro Pages broke the tie with a solo homer late for the Cardinals, his first of the season. The Cubbies brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the 9th but came up empty and took the 3-0 loss.
