The Chicago Blackhawks bucked several trends and defeated the New York Islanders Friday night. The win marked the first of the season in the seconds of back-to-back games. It was also the first time they’ve scored multiple goals since a win versus Calgary nearly two weeks ago.
The Hawks fell behind 1-0 in the 1st period but battled back in the 2nd. Boris Katchouk and Joey “Whoa” Anderson scored goals just 1:07 apart in the 2nd to enter the 3rd with a lead. Jason Dickinson padded the lead in the 3rd with his 15th goal of the year. But the Islanders wouldn’t go away, scoring two goals to send it to overtime. It didn’t take long in the extra frame, as Seth Jones netted the game-winner for the Hawks!
