In a matchup of the 2 teams at the bottom of the standings, the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks played a nail-biter. The Hawks got the early lead on a lucky bounce off a Sharks defenseman, where Cole Guttman was credited with his fourth goal of the season. The score remained 1-0 until the 3rd period when former Hawk Ryan Carpenter tied the game. The game went to overtime where the Blackhawks couldn’t take advantage of an early power play opportunity.
