In a matchup of the 2 teams at the bottom of the standings, the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks played a nail-biter. The Hawks got the early lead on a lucky bounce off a Sharks defenseman, where Cole Guttman was credited with his fourth goal of the season. The score remained 1-0 until the 3rd period when former Hawk Ryan Carpenter tied the game. The game went to overtime where the Blackhawks couldn’t take advantage of an early power play opportunity. Even overtime wasn’t enough, as the teams needed a shootout to declare a winner. It was a lengthy shootout, but in the end, the Hawks came out on top in nine rounds; Mrazek allowed just one goal. Join Jay Zawaski, Greg Boysen, and Mario Tirabassi as they recap the thrilling shootout winner on the CHGO Blackhawks Live Postgame Podcast.
