Bears Game Grades

How in the world are we all digesting a Bears loss to the Detroit Lions? Didn’t the Bears lead 24-10 heading into the 4th quarter? Didn’t Justin Fields have a memorable run in that 4th quarter? Wasn’t it 2020 the last time Detroit won a road game? Alas, let us get to the grades for the 3-7 Chicago Bears. Quarterback A- Justin Fields you made Bears fan delirious again with a 67-yard run to the end zone to put the Bears up 30-24. Fields had the longest QB run in Bears history last week versus Miami. He topped it one week later by six yards. I guess 73 yards is on tap next week at Atlanta. Fields had 167 yards…

The Chicago Bears hired a defensive coach in Matt Eberflus. We all know the Bears are light on talent, but should they be this bad defensively? Did anyone have Fields breaking the NFL regular season record for rushing yards from a quarterback?! 178 dazzling yards in all — six more than Michael Vick all the way back in 2002. The 61-yard TD run with the bluff throw made Soldier Field go nuts as did the three touchdown passes. There was also a whole lot of smiling and looking at his Microsoft…

The Bears beat the Patriots on Monday night to deny Bill Belichick passing George Halas. Belichick is stuck on 324 and will not pass Papa Bear on the Bears watch. Do we even need to do the grades? Spoiler alert: Almost everyone gets an A.  Justin Fields: A- The numbers do not jump off the page but the performance did: 179 yards passing and 82 yards rushing. The numerous sharp cuts and the 25-yard dump-off touchdown pass to Khalil Herbert under extreme duress were beautiful to see. Fields looked more comfortable in Luke Getsy’s offense which finally looked like it was designed for Justin Fields. A planned run for the QB in the red zone? Sign me up for more of…

There was some good and a lot of bad in the Chicago Bears’ 29-22 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Here’s how I graded out the performances … Quarterback: A Matt Eberflus called it his best game as a Bear. Justin Fields finished 15-for-21. He righted a sinking Bears ship on the road. He has a sweet run to...
