I have a question for next week’s Monday mailbag. I was listening to The Hockey Writer’s podcast, and they said that Anaheim and Sharks are doing their rebuilds the right way, whereas Chicago’s progress was abysmal. Their biggest rationale was that Sharks are an exciting team to watch, they have their franchise star, and they have their franchise goalie of the future. From my standpoint, the Blackhawks are in a similar position, except the Blackhawks don’t have as good goalie options, but have a significantly more robust pool on defense. The only real gap in the Blackhawks pipeline is not having a star winger, which, hopefully they should be able to address this off-season (either via draft, trade or a combination). They kept harping on the how much more exciting Sharks are to watch, which is a very subjective. How, in your opinion, is the Blackhawks rebuild going compared to the Ducks and the Sharks? Is our organization really bad, or do the others just enjoy shitting on Blackhawks because they know that they have a limited window, before the team starts contending again.

Everywhere I look, the prospects are killing it: Nick Lardis is a goal scoring machine, Roman Kantserov is outperforming all expectations, Levshunov is the only D prospect drafted in the last two years who has turned pro. In NCAA, the Blackhawks have 5 Hobey Baker nominees. Point-per-game wise, Nazar is right up there with Cutter Gauthier even though Frankie has had a less time to adjust to the NHL.

Sorry for the long-winded questions, but I am starting to get sick of all analysts shitting on the Blackhawks all the time, and while I cannot stop that, I am hoping that you can provide an objective opinion on the state of the rebuild. Thanks
