Blackhawks trading Seth Jones is a turning point in rebuild timeline

Fair or not, now-former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Seth Jones' perception by the diehard fanbase was not one of immense favorability. Some of it was not his fault, and some of it was in his control.
But as he made his desire to be traded from the Blackhawks public just about two weeks ago, the target on Jones' back from the fan base in Chicago became even bigger.
Now, as the trade he requested was granted, and Jones was sent to the Florida Panthers in exchange for goaltender Spencer Knight and a 2026 (or 2027) first-round pick, we're learning more about how the deal happened and how it reverberated through the Blackhawks locker room.
