It was one of my top stories to watch during the preseason, and we got the answer a little more quickly than expected. The Blackhawks sent three players to Rockford on Wednesday morning: defensemen Louis Crevier and Kevin Korchinski, and forward Frank Nazar. The latter of the two were vying for a spot on the roster, but apparently, general manager Kyle Davidson had seen enough to decide the best move was to begin their seasons in Rockford.
So what does this mean? Are the Blackhawks losing faith in the former first-round picks, or is it just an opportunity to tune up their games and develop them fully?
