The youth movement is fully underway in Chicago. Sunday, the Blackhawks recalled 2024 #2 overall pick Artyom Levshunov from Rockford. The defenseman is expected to make his NHL debut this week, perhaps as soon as Monday night in Colorado.

Levshunov, 19, started his AHL season slowly but has taken major strides in recent weeks. Over his last 15 games, he’s recorded three goals and eight assists and has five goals and 17 assists in 50 games overall. He got his first taste of NHL life when he was recalled to practice with the Blackhawks during the AHL All Star Break, but didn’t see game action.

Look for Levshunov to slot in on the right side, filling the space left empty by Seth Jones, who was traded to the Florida Panthers on March 1st.

With Levshunov’s recall, the Blackhawks now have 11 players age 23 or younger on their roster.

  • Connor Bedard (19)
  • Artyom Levshunov (19)
  • Frank Nazar (21)
  • Colton Dach (22)
  • Ethan Del Mastro (22)
  • Wyatt Kaiser (22)
  • Lukas Reichel (22)
  • Landon Slaggert (22)
  • Louis Crevier (23)
  • Spencer Knight (23)
  • Alex Vlasic (23)

The Blackhawks face the Colorado Avalanche Monday at 8 pm.
