The Rockford IceHogs had quite an eventful week. On the ice, they took three of a possible six points. Off the ice, they said hello to new head coach Mark Eaton after Anders Sorensen was promoted to interim head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday.
Sorensen’s final game behind the IceHogs’ bench turned out to be the biggest win of the season. They blew out the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 7-3 in the first-ever meeting between the two franchises. Frank Nazar and Landon Slaggert each had a goal and two assists. Cole Guttman scored twice, while Jackson Cates, Colton Dach, and Cavan Fitzgerald found the back of the net.
