Losses in the division – especially to the Green Bay Packers – always tend to linger longer and bring out more angst.
And losing 31-7 only makes matters worse.
“They understand where we’re at,” coach Ben Johnson said Monday. “We’re a 3-2 football team. The part that stinks is that we’re 0-2 in the division right now, so we dug ourselves in a hole in that regard.”
The Bears’ next game in the NFC North won’t be until Thanksgiving in Detroit against the Lions. With that in mind, here are my five takeaways as the Bears try to turn the page toward Week 6 and a trip to Atlanta.
1. The best thing that happened Sunday is that Caleb Williams has re-entered the Bears’ quarterback conversation after missing three weeks.
His pregame workout at Lambeau Field helped. It was long, elaborate and exhausting.
His hamstring is getting better.
“He’s doing a great job progressing and we’ll see when we can make him available to help us win ball games,” Ben Johnson said. “But he’s itching to get back as soon as he can, which is a good thing. And when we get the green light, we’ll move forward from there.”

Great article as always. To what extent did the Jets game wear down the offensive line?

AuthorThat’s a great question. The price of success? They definitely didn’t look the same in Green Bay.

The protection was pretty dang good IMO. The QB play was horrendous.

AuthorThis is more about the struggles in the run game.

With JJ’s struggles on the field (might be over) and Stevenson struggles to stay on the field, when does Clark Phillips get snaps?
Adam Jahns
AuthorAnother good question. The Bears traded for him, too!
