CHICAGO — It took quarterback Tyson Bagent and the Bears’ offense a couple of drives to find their footing in Saturday’s preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns.
Then on the opening play of the third drive from the Bears’ 22-yard line, Bagent — facing immediate pressure from Browns defensive end Tyreak Sapp — floated a pass down the middle of the field for receiver Kaden Davis in stride and unguarded at the Bears’ 42.
Davis ran another 21 yards, stiff-arming Browns defensive back Tre Avery before he was brought down by rookie safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren.
It was the Bears’ first first down and a key spark for the offense.
But it wasn’t coach Ben Johnson’s most notable moment of Davis’ performance. It was Davis’ downfield blocking on running back Salvon Ahmed’s 49-yard touchdown catch-and-run.

You’re right, but I liked the nugget about Johnson noticing Davis’ downfield blocking. If our line can hold up, this offense has a chance to be really good.
