Absolutely spot-on column, Patrick. Thank you. I was a kicker as well as a punter back in the Eocene Period: Lou Groza style, pre-Yepremian, pre-soccer-style, and so that this little tweak would be “difficult” for kickers is crazy to me. Put in a thousand hours intelligent practice in the off-season, guys. Goodness! I learned how to dropkick in case I ever needed to. I did only once when our holder was hurt. Through the uprights. I was stopped on the street by lots of people who said they hadn’t seen that kick for forty years. Put in the time! Skills pay dividends.

Tory’s comment rubs me the wrong way for some reason. “I just do what I’m told” is not the type of thing you want to hear when it comes to learning a new skill.
