LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears’ rotation at left tackle – the competition between Braxton Jones, Kiran Amegadjie and Jedrick Wills Jr. – really started to spin on Friday.

For the first time in camp, Jones was no longer the starter. 

Amegadjie took over during what was the longest practice so far in camp at Halas Hall on Friday. He got the most reps with Caleb Williams and the rest of the starters. 

Jones and Wills rotated in for one play with the first team and then stayed on the field with Tyson Bagent and the second offense. Extra reps then came with Case Keenum and Co.

Amegadjie, meanwhile, was on the field for every snap of a successful two-minute drill that concluded practice for the starters.

“One day I could go out and be running with the 1s,” Jones said. “One day I could be going with the 2s. It doesn’t matter.  At the end of the day, we’re all competing, trying to be as consistent as possible, and that’s our mission as a group. And we’re all cheering each other on, regardless if I’m with the 3s or 2s.”
