If there was any doubt that the Bears were for real, that doubt is gone.

The Bears marched into Lumen Field in Seattle — one of the NFL’s toughest road environments — and dominated the defending Super Bowl champions.

Quarterback Caleb Williams finished 24-for-34 for 247 yards, one touchdown and a 101.0 passer rating. He is the first quarterback to eclipse 200 passing yards in a game against the Seahawks this season.

Running back D’Andre Swift rushed a whopping 27 times for 69 yards but reached the end zone three times, bringing his season rushing touchdown total to 10. He is four scores from tying the Bears’ single-season record held by Gale Sayers and Walter Payton with 14 touchdowns.

New addition Jeffery Simmons was credited with one sack and two tackles for loss.

The CHGO staff reacts to the Bears’ big win …

Adam Jahns: The Bears have beaten the defending AFC champions and the reigning Super Bowl champions in prime time in back-to-back weeks. Enough said.

Patrick Norton: The Jeffery Simmons impact is real. The orange sleeves seemed to make an appearance at every big moment for the Bears’ defense. But the Bears’ offense putting up 34 points on the best defense in football was almost stunning. Almost. There’s a conversation to be had as to whether or not the Bears are the best team in the NFL right now. That’s the reality. They can stop anybody, they can score on anybody and they can compete with anybody.

Joey Christopoulos: So this is what hard-nosed, come-into-your-house, take-a-few-punches-to-the-face-and-still-come-out-with-a-W, championship-caliber kind of win? Yeah, that’s right. It’s a run-on sentence. But the Bears delivered more big plays than the Super Bowl Champs and just announced to the NFL: THE BEARS ARE FOR REAL. Lastly, No. 99 is worth a Full Dollar and some change. As advertised.

Greg Braggs Jr.: What else is there to say? The Bears are going to win the Super Bowl.

Elite performance from the Chicago Bears, from what started as a measuring stick and finished with a thundering statement to the rest of the NFL. They have superstars on both sides of the ball that can take over games. Caleb Williams. Jeffery Simmons. And they aren’t going anywhere.
